കണ്ണൂര്‍: ശ്രീകണ്ഠാപുരത്ത് സിപിഎം-കോണ്‍ഗ്രസ് പ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ തമ്മില്‍ സംഘര്‍ഷം. ഇരു വിഭാഗങ്ങളുടെയും പ്രതിഷേധ പ്രകടനത്തിനിടെ ഉണ്ടായ വാക്കുതര്‍ക്കമാണ് പിന്നീട് കയ്യാങ്കളിയിലേക്ക് നീങ്ങിയത്. സംഘര്‍ഷത്തില്‍ ശ്രീകണ്ഠാപുരം നഗരസഭ ചെയര്‍മാന്‍ ഇ.വി രാമകൃഷ്ണന് പരിക്കേറ്റു. സിപിഎം പ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ക്കും പരിക്കേറ്റു.

നഗരസഭ ചെയര്‍മാന്‍ ഇ.വി രാമകൃഷ്ണനെ ഡിവൈഎഫ്‌ഐ പ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ കയ്യേറ്റം ചെയ്‌തെന്ന് ആരോപിച്ച് ശ്രീകണ്ഠാപുരം നഗരസഭ പരിധിയില്‍ നാളെ യുഡിഎഫ് ഹര്‍ത്താലിന് ആഹ്വാനം ചെയ്തു. രാവിലെ ആറുമുതല്‍ വൈകിട്ട് വരെയാണ് ഹര്‍ത്താല്‍. വാഹനങ്ങളെ ഹര്‍ത്താലില്‍ നിന്ന് ഒഴിവാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.

അക്രമസംഭവത്തില്‍ ഡിവൈഎഫ്‌ഐ പ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ക്കെതിരെ പൊലീസ് കേസെടുത്തു. ഭിന്നശേഷിക്കാരി ഉള്‍പ്പെടെയുള്ള കോണ്‍ഗ്രസ് പ്രവര്‍ത്തകരെ മര്‍ദിച്ചെന്ന പരാതിയിലാണ് കേസ്.

കോണ്‍ഗ്രസ് കൊടിമരം നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നത് തടയുന്നതിനിടെയാണ് മര്‍ദനമുണ്ടായതെന്നാണ് പരാതിയിലുള്ളത്. 19 ഡിവൈഎഫ്‌ഐ പ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ക്കെതിരെയാണ് ജാമ്യമില്ലാ വകുപ്പുകള്‍ ചുമത്തി കേസെടുത്തത്.

Clashes broke out between CPM and Congress workers in Sreekandapuram, Kannur, during rival protest marches, leaving municipality chairman E.V. Ramakrishnan injured. Following allegations that DYFI workers assaulted him, the UDF has called a hartal in the municipal limits tomorrow, while police have registered a case against 19 DYFI workers.
