തൊടുപുഴ: നവജാത ശിശുവിനെ കൊന്ന കേസിൽ അമ്മ കുറ്റവാളിയെന്ന് കോടതി കണ്ടെത്തി. അമ്മയ്ക്ക് ജീവപര്യന്തം തടവും 50,000 രൂപ പിഴയും ശിക്ഷിച്ചു. മുട്ടം അഡീഷനൽ സെഷൻസ് ജഡ്ജ് ആശ് കെ. ബാൽ ആണ് വിധി പ്രസ്താവിച്ചത്.

മറയൂർ നാച്ചിവയൽ പുളിക്കരവയൽ സ്വദേശി കുട്ടിയമ്മ എന്നു വിളിക്കുന്ന റോസ് മേരി (47) കുറ്റകൃത്യം ചെയ്തതായി കോടതി കണ്ടെത്തി.

2014 മേയ് 13നാണ് കേസിനാസ്പദമായ സംഭവം. പുളിക്കരവയലിലെ റോസ് മേരിയുടെ വീട്ടിലെ പശുത്തൊഴുത്തിന്റെ മുകളിൽ നിന്നാണ് നാട്ടുകാർ നവജാത ശിശുവിന്റെ മൃതദേഹം കമ്പിളിപ്പുതപ്പിൽ പൊതിഞ്ഞ നിലയിൽ കണ്ടെത്തിയത്.

ആടിനെ മാറ്റിക്കെട്ടാൻ തൊഴുത്തിനടുത്തെത്തിയ അയൽവാസിയായ പതിനാലുകാരനാണ് കുഞ്ഞിന്റെ മൃതദേഹം കണ്ടത്. ഉടൻ അയൽവാസികൂടിയായ പഞ്ചായത്തംഗത്തെ വിവരമറിയിച്ചു.

മറയൂർ ഗവ.ആശുപത്രിയിലും തുടർന്ന് അടിമാലിയിലെ സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രിയിലും എത്തിച്ചെങ്കിലും കുഞ്ഞ് മരിച്ചതായി സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചു. തുടർന്നാണ് പൊലീസ് റോസ് മേരിയെ കസ്റ്റഡിയിലെടുത്തത്.

പ്രസവിച്ചതിനു ശേഷം കുഞ്ഞിനെ റോസ് മേരി കഴുത്ത് ഞെരിച്ചു കൊലപ്പെടുത്തുകയായിരുന്നു എന്നാണ് കുറ്റപത്രത്തിൽ പറയുന്നത്. പ്രോസിക്യൂഷന് വേണ്ടി അഡ്വ.പി.എസ്.രാജേഷ് ഹാജരായി.
