മലപ്പുറം: മലപ്പുറം വള്ളിക്കുന്നില്‍ മാരത്തണ്‍ ഓട്ടത്തിനിടെ കായിക അധ്യാപകന്‍ കുഴഞ്ഞ് വീണ് മരിച്ചു. വള്ളിക്കുന്ന് അത്താണിക്കല്‍ സ്വദേശി ശ്രീകുമാര്‍ ആണ് മരിച്ചത്.

ഞായറാഴ്ച രാവിലെ ലഹരിക്കെതിരെ ജെ സി ഐ വള്ളിക്കുന്ന് സംഘടിപ്പിച്ച മാരത്തോണ്‍ മത്സരത്തിന്റെ ഫിനിഷിങ് പോയിന്റിന് തൊട്ടു മുമ്പ് കുഴഞ്ഞ് വീഴുകയായിരുന്നു. ഉ

ടന്‍ തന്നെ സിപിആര്‍ അടക്കമുള്ള പ്രാഥമിക ശുശ്രുഷ നല്‍കി. തുടര്‍ന്ന് സമീപത്തെ ആശുപത്രിയില്‍ എത്തിച്ചെങ്കിലും ജീവന്‍ രക്ഷിക്കാനായില്ല. കായിക അദ്ധ്യാപകനായി മലപ്പുറം ജില്ലയില്‍ പല സ്‌കൂളുകളിലും പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ച് വിരമിച്ചയാളാണ് ശ്രീകുമാര്‍.

Physical education teacher Sreekumar, 62, native of Athanikkal, Vallikkunnu, died after collapsing during marathon in Malappuram. He collapsed just before finishing point of anti-drug marathon organized by JCI Vallikkunnu on Sunday morning. CPR and first aid given immediately, rushed to nearby hospital but could not save life. He was retired PE teacher who served in various schools in Malappuram district.
