കോട്ടയുടെ മുകളിൽ നിന്നു ചാടിയ അശ്വിനി, മകൻ അജിങ്ക്യ, ഇരട്ടകളിൽ ഒരാളായ ക്രാന്തി എന്നിവർ അപകടസ്ഥലത്തു തന്നെ മരിച്ചിരുന്നു. ഗുരുതര പരുക്കേറ്റ് ആശുപത്രിയിൽ ചികിത്സയിലിരിക്കെയാണ് ഇരട്ടകളിൽ ഒരാളായ വീര മരിച്ചത്.

കഴിഞ്ഞ വ്യാഴാഴ്ച ധാരാശിവ് (ഉസ്മാനാബാദ്) ജില്ലയിലെ നൽദുർദ് കോട്ടയ്ക്കു മുകളിൽ മക്കളുമായി എത്തിയ അശ്വിനി 100 അടി താഴ്ചയിലേക്കു ചാടുകയായിരുന്നു. അശ്വിനി ദേശീയതലത്തിൽ 5 സ്വർണമെഡലും 6 വെള്ളിയും നേടിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
