ശനിയാഴ്ച രാത്രി 11 മണിയോടെയായിരുന്നു നാടിനെ നടുക്കിയ സംഭവം നടന്നത്. വെള്ളാവ് റെഡ്സ്റ്റാർ ക്ലബ്ബിന്റെ ആഭിമുഖ്യത്തിൽ നടന്ന ഓണാഘോഷ പരിപാടിയിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കുന്നതിനിടെ നവനീത് പെട്ടെന്ന് കുഴഞ്ഞുവീഴുകയായിരുന്നു. ഉടൻ തന്നെ ഒപ്പമുണ്ടായിരുന്ന നാട്ടുകാരും സുഹൃത്തുക്കളും ചേർന്ന് തളിപ്പറമ്പിലെ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ എത്തിച്ചെങ്കിലും ജീവൻ രക്ഷിക്കാനായില്ല.
