കണ്ണൂർ: കണ്ണൂർ കെഎസ്ആർടിസി ബസ് സ്റ്റാൻഡ് പരിസരത്ത് ഒമ്പത് വർഷം മുമ്പ് നടന്ന കൊലപാതകക്കേസിലെ പ്രതി പിടിയിൽ. ഓപ്പറേഷൻ ഗ്രിപ്പിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി നടത്തിയ അന്വേഷണത്തിലാണ് മലപ്പുറം സ്വദേശിയായ അബ്ദുള്ള പിടിയിലായത്.

കൊലപാതകത്തിന് പിന്നാലെ ഇയാൾ ഒളിവിൽ പോവുകയായിരുന്നു. 2017 ജനുവരി 24ന് കണ്ണൂർ കെഎസ്ആർടിസി ബസ് സ്റ്റാൻഡിലെ കംഫർട്ട് സ്റ്റേഷൻ നടത്തിപ്പുകാരനായ തിരുവനന്തപുരം സ്വദേശി സുനി കൊല്ലപ്പെടുന്നു.

കോടതിയും പിടികിട്ടാപ്പുള്ളിയായി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു. മംഗളൂരുവിലും കാസർകോടും പല പേരുകളിൽ ഇയാൾ താമസിച്ചിരുന്നതായി അന്വേഷണ സംഘം പിന്നീട് കണ്ടെത്തി.

ശാസ്ത്രീയ തെളിവുകൾ കൂടി സമാഹരിച്ച ശേഷം നടത്തിയ അന്വേഷണത്തിലാണ് അബ്ദുള്ളയെ മലപ്പുറം മുന്നിയൂരിൽ വെച്ച് അന്വേഷണ സംഘം പിടികൂടിയത്. കമ്മീഷണർ വിജയ് ഭാരത് റെഡ്ഡിയുടെ കീഴിലുള്ള പ്രത്യേക സ്ക്വാഡാണ് അബ്ദുള്ളയെ കസ്റ്റഡിയിലെടുത്തത്.

Police found Abdullah and another person committed murder but Abdullah absconded. Co-accused was arrested, convicted and lodged in Kannur Central Jail but there was no trace of Abdullah. Declared as proclaimed offender by court, police found he lived under different names in Mangalore and Kasaragod. After collecting scientific evidence, special squad under Commissioner Vijay Bharat Reddy arrested him at Munniyur in Malappuram.
