മോഡേൺ ബസാർ ഞെളിയം പറമ്പിന് മുന്നിൽ രണ്ട് ബസ്സും കാറും കൂട്ടിയിടിച്ചാണ് അപകടമുണ്ടായത്. രാമനാട്ടുകര സ്വദേശിയും കോൺഗ്രസ് നേതാവുമായ ഉമ്മർ അഷ്‌റഫാണ് മരിച്ചത്. മകളോടൊപ്പം യാത്ര ചെയ്യുന്നതിനിടെയായിരുന്നു അപകടം. ഫയർഫോഴ്സ് എത്തി കാർ വെട്ടി പൊളിച്ചാണ് പിതാവിനെയും പരിക്കേറ്റ മകളെയും പുറത്തെടുത്തത്. മകളെ തൊട്ടടുത്ത ഹോസ്പിറ്റലിൽ പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചു.
